That having believed in [my] spirit, I worship You, O Only-begotten: forgive the transgression of the commandment; let the former sins not be remembered. The nethermost depths trembled when You yielded Your spirit to the Father—You who descended into the lower hell, into the prison of death and darkness. Having bound the prince of death, You brought forth the souls that were in the prison; bring me forth also, O Lord, with them, from the dusky prison of sin.
