After the Psalms and the *kanonaglux* [head of the canon], a *paštōn* [service/office] is performed according to the tone [of the day], and the Gospel of the Rest [of the Dead] is read. But if it be a Feast of the Cross, *Aysōr anjaṙ* [“Today Ineffable”] is said, and the Gospel of the Crucifixion is read. Thereafter: *Norogōł tiezeracʿ* [“Renovator of the Universe”], and successively the hymn *Trtmahahołord* [“Partaker of Sorrow”] or *Zarhourecʿan* [“They were Terrified”]; and then *Hogwocʿ* [“Of the Souls”] and the *Lord’s Prayer* [Hayr mer]. Thereafter: *Ew ews xałałutʿean* [“Again in peace...”]. *Orhnutʿiwn ew pʿaṙkʿ* [“Blessing and glory...”]. Then the *Orhnutʿiwn* [the Canticle/first ode of the canon šarakan (hymn)] shall be begun according to the proper of the day.
