[Tone] 4. Praise the Lord, O my soul! I will praise the Lord in my life; alleluia! I will sing psalms to my God as long as I exist; alleluia! Put not your trust in princes, nor in the sons of men, for there is no salvation in them. His spirit shall go forth from them, and they shall return again to the earth; and on that day all their thoughts shall perish. Blessed is the nation whose helper is the Lord God of Jacob, and whose hope is in the Lord God, Who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them; Who keepeth truth forever, and executeth justice for the wronged. [Tone] 4 [Variant / Plagal]. Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem; alleluia! And praise thy God, O Sion! For He hath strengthened the bars of thy gates, and hath blessed thy children within thee; Who hath established peace in thy borders, [and] filled thee with the fat of the wheat.
