...to be [reconciled] to the Lord God for all and for ourselves. And henceforth, purifying ourselves from [a guilty] conscience and from evil deeds, let us lift up our hands in holiness, without anger and doubting. In faith let us ask of Him expiation and remission of our transgressions, confessing the secrets of our hearts to God, the Knower of secrets, so that, receiving our supplications through the prayers and intercession of all the saints, God the Lover of mankind may grant us to live in virtue and blameless conduct according to His will in this world, and to be made worthy of the eternal and heavenly tabernacles which the true God, JESUS CHRIST our Lord, promised to His beloved. Save [us] and have mercy. [Response:] Save, O Lord. [Deacon:] That we may pass the remainder of this night in peace, in faith let us ask of the Lord. [Response:] Grant, O Lord. [Deacon:] An angel of peace, a guardian of our souls, let us ask of the Lord.
