…in my labors, the lamentable demise of my benefactor, Pōłos Bey Yusufeantsʿ, left [me] destitute and stayed my hand from the work of printing; that which had been begun remained delayed from completion, and for that which I wished to begin, means were lacking to me for the fulfillment of my desires. Yet thanks [be] to God, the Lover of mankind, who in the distant places of my sojourning and in bitter griefs, when my person was abandoned [and] helpless, raised up for me a hospitable patron in place of him of whose favors I was deprived: the noble [and] venerable Ałay Hovanǰan Eliazeantsʿ—he who, through his God-pleasing philanthropy and patriotism, is recognized by all as a father of orphans and travelers, and a benefactor of our Nation. The establishment of this Eagle Printing Press is the fruit of this Ała; the printing of spiritually profitable books which I brought to light in the past year is the achievement of this benefactor of the public. In no small measure did the Most Honorable [and] Devout Tēr Yovhannēs Xačkʿean, learned Priest and Archpriest of our Holy Church of Nazareth, assist me in the printing of this book; for with well-exhorting words he set forth the scarcity and the necessity of this *Žamagirkʿ* (Book of Hours), and the worthy-of-honor Ałay Hovanǰan Eliazeantsʿ, having strengthened [my] abandoned [state] with generous contributions…
