Համար նստել է՞ սառը կամ թաց տեղ և կամ քամու դիմացը: Էս տեսակ անզգուշութենից կ' յառաջանայ փողացաւ (խունակ բկա- ցաւ) կամ կուրծքի բորբոքում ծակուցքով. սրա Համար գրած է երկրորդ մասին Հինգերորդ գլխումը և այլն : 5. Աւելորդ կերակուր կամ ծանր և դժուարամարս բա- ներ, այսինքն, սունկ (սօկօն), խակ պտուղ կամ պարարտ (չաղ) խոզի և բադի միս կամ ապուխտ կամ Հնացած և աւերուած ձուկը կամ պինդ խաշած ձու և ուրիշ սրանց նման բաներ կերել է՞: Սրանց գործածելուց երբեմն կարելի է յառաջանայ բերանիցը փսխել, լուծողութիւն և ուրիշ զանազան Հիւանդութիւններ: 6. Բուն Հիւանդութիւնը պարզ Հասկանալու Համար, բաց ի վերոյ յիշեալ պատճառներից, պէտք է Հարցնել, թէ Հիւանդը զգում է՞ սըփսըփալ, սռսռալ կամ տաքութիւն բոլոր մար- մնումը ու Հետն էլ գլխացաւ փորիցը կարգով բանացնում է՞, ունի՞ փորաբացութիւն կամ ամրութիւն, կամ թէ մարմնոյ վրէն դուրս տուած ունի խաղավարտ (պալտախտ) : 7. Քանի՞ ժամանակ է, որ Հիւանդացել է, ի՞նչ տեսակ նը- շաններով սկսուեց նրա Հիւանդութիւնը. դեղ կամ ուրիշ միջոց գործ է՞ ածել, թէ ոչ, և թէ գործ է ածել, որ դեղիցն է տեսել լաւութիւն կամ ո՞ր դեղիցը վատութիւն: Էստոնք ամէնը պէտք է Հարցնէ Հիւանդին կամ նրա պահպանողին բժիշկը կամ նա, ով որ դեղ է անում նրան : 8. Պէտք է Հարցնել, թէ մէ'կ մարդու պատահեց էս Հիւան- դութիւնը, թէ շատե՞ր են 'ի միասին բռնուել: 9. Եթէ Հիւանդը կնիկարմատ է, պէտք է քննեն կարգով, տեսնում է՞ ամսական Հոսումը, թէ որ չէ տեսնում, երկու Հոգսութենի՞ց է՞, թէ ուրիշ պատճառից է կախուած : 10. Երեխի Հիւանդութեան ժամանակը պէտք է Հարցնել, թէ դուրս գնալ ածի ռանգը փոխուած է կամ բերանից փս- խածը շաղուած է՞ կաթնի նման. քնում է՞ Հանգիստ կամ ակռէքը Հանում է՞: 11. Երբ որ չափահաս մարդոյ Հիւանդութիւնը պարզ չէ կա- րելի ճանաչել, էն ժամանակը պէտք է թեթևացնել Հիւան- դութեան նշանները, որոնք առաւել նեղացնում են նրան : 12. Հիւանդի պառկած տունը նրա գողինքը և շորերը պէտք

[Has he] sat in a cold or wet place, or facing the wind? From this sort of carelessness there will arise a sore throat (croup, throat-ache) or inflammation of the chest with stitching pains; concerning this, it is written in the fifth chapter of the second part, etc. 5. Has he eaten excess food or heavy and indigestible things—that is to say, mushrooms (*sokon*), unripe fruit, or fat (*chagh*) pork and duck meat, or cured meat (*apukht*), or stale and spoiled fish, or hard-boiled eggs, and other such things? From the consumption of these, vomiting from the mouth, looseness of the bowels [diarrhea], and other various ailments may sometimes arise. 6. In order clearly to understand the true illness, besides the above-mentioned causes, one must ask whether the patient feels shiverings, chills, or heat throughout the entire body, and along with that, a headache; does he move his bowels regularly; does he have diarrhea or costiveness [constipation]; or does he have an eruption upon his body, [namely] rash (*paltakht*)? 7. How much time [has passed] since he fell ill? With what sort of signs did his illness begin? Has he used medicine or any other remedy, or not; and if he has used [any], from which medicine did he see improvement, or from which medicine [did he suffer] harm? All these things the physician—or whoever is administering medicine to him—must ask the patient or his attendant. 8. One must ask whether this illness befell only one person, or if many have been seized [by it] together. 9. If the patient is of the female sex, they must examine in due order whether she has her monthly flow; and if she does not have [it], whether it is from pregnancy [literally: two-souledness] or depends upon another cause. 10. During the illness of a child, one must ask whether the color of the stool is altered, or if the vomit from the mouth is curdled like milk; does it sleep quietly, or is it cutting teeth? 11. When it is not possible clearly to recognize the illness of an adult person, at that time one must alleviate the symptoms of the illness that distress him the most. 12.
