Պարկեշտութիը ջանք մի է , որով մարդս իր բարքը և վարքը կը կարգա_ ւորէ, և բարի անուն կունենայ : ա . Պարկեշտը՝ իր բոլոր վարմունքին մէջը չափաւորութի և վայելչուի կը պա հէ, սրտին ամմէն ուզածը չը կատարէր: 1] ՜ս զի մարմնոյն կիրքը և բաղձանքը՝ մտքին իշխանութեը տակը ձգեր է . և ինքն ալ մտաց խորհրդովը կը կառավար_ վի • անոր Համար իր կերակուրը , Հա_ գուստը, շրջիլը, խօսիլը, և բոլոր շարժ մունքը կանոնաւոր են և Համեստ , և մարդկուե վայելուչ: Ուստի կը խրատէ սբ առաքեալը՝ ասելով. * ( մենայն ինչ ձեր պարկեշտուբ և ըստ կարգի լինիցի: || ա • կորն • Ժդ • 40 : Իսկ լիրբը՝ թոյլ կու տայ անկարգ կիրքերուն և չար բաղձանքին որ մտացը իշխեն, և իրենց ծառայեցընեն. և ինք_ նալ մտքին կառավարութէն գուրս կել լայ , և մարմնոյն կամքը կը պաշտէ . և այսպս իր բոլոր վարմունքը կապականէ,

Decency is an effort whereby a person regulates his morals and conduct, and acquires a good name. 1. The decent person maintains moderation and propriety in all his behavior, [and] does not fulfill every desire of his heart; for he has subjected the passions and longings of the body to the dominion of the mind, and he himself is governed by the counsel of reason. For this reason, his food, clothing, walking, speech, and all his movements are orderly, modest, and becoming to human nature. Whence the Holy Apostle exhorteth, saying: “Let all your things be done with decency and in order” (I Cor. 14:40). But the insolent person allows disorderly passions and evil desires to rule over his mind and enslave [it] to themselves; and he himself departs from the governance of reason, and worships the will of the flesh, and thus corrupts his entire conduct.
